A BRIEF ON OUR SCHOOL

Our founders started the school named Blackdale Public School in 1997 on encouragement of Dr. M. Rehman (Padma Shri Awardee), IAS, the then Vice Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh under dynamic leadership of Prof. M. M. R. K. Afridi, former Head and Dean at the Aligarh Muslim University, with his vast managerial experience of several schools. Late Prof. M. Shafi (Padma Shri Awardee), former Pro-Vice Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Chancellor, AMU was also a guiding light behind this noble project. Through the sincere devotion of the founders and the efforts of the entire management board our school is targeting a never-ending source of knowledge for all those who become a part of it. The school is established also to the cause of minorities, backward communities and weaker sections who have been deprived of proper education for ages so as to bring them at par with the more fortunate sections of our society.

BPS aims to provide the best possible education through English medium on British Public School pattern. Blackdale Public School, affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, comprises of about 10.000 sq. meters of land at Shafiabad, Dhorra By-Pass, Maheshpur, Aligarh; it is joined with Jamalpur. The School is located in one of the developing and pollution free sections of Aligarh.

In the best tradition of imparting good education, the school had started Secondary classes up to 10th and thereafter it was up-graded to +2 stage, that is, Senior Secondary level.

With an objective to make the School a model one in all respects, the faculty has trained staff supervised by the Management having persons of vast experiences of educational administration and acumen. The well-balanced curriculum focuses on the building of all students into a perfect blend of the modern and traditional culture. The modern enabling them to fly higher and higher in this innovative and technological ethos while tradition holding them steadfast in their own rich culture.

Essential Conditions

  • The Blackdale Public School Affiliation No.2130708, Regd. No. 54166 established in 1997 got its Secondary School recognition with CBSE in April 2005. It was upgraded and recognised as Senior Secondary (+2) in April 2012, and since then the school is maintaining all the required norms of CBSE. The school was given "No Objection Certificate" (No.3948/15-7-161611/1999) by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh IN 1999.
  • The school is run by The Rafi Educational Development Society (REDS) which has non-propriety character.
  • The school is spread over two (02) acre of land, having a proper ground for all basic games & sports & general games and a recreational park for primary & pre-primary kids.
  • All the teaching staff are well qualified as per CBSE requirement. They are full time employed. The number of teachers is more than the ratio of 1:1.5, it has to be maintained especially to provide subject teachers at (+2) levels.
  • The salary of teachers is as per scales of the State Government.

Facilities: The school provides adequate facilities for a conducive environment of teaching and learning. The class room size is per CBSE norms providing floor space of 1 sqm per student. The rooms are well ventilated and illuminated to provide free circulation of air and light. The Dust free chalk is used by the teachers so that students do not inhale chalk dust. The science labs are very well equipped and well stocked with apparatus, chemicals and models to conduct experiments up to senior secondary (+2) level. Likewise, the computer lab contains about enough personal computers of a good specification for students offering IT & Computer Studies at Secondary and Senior Secondary levels. The school library is maintained by a highly trained librarian and has about 10,000 books which caters to students from class 1 to 12. Admission & Fee: The school offers admission to the students of all religion, race, caste, creed and place of birth. There is no distinction and discrimination whatsoever. The fees charged is commensurate with the facilities offered and also under the heads prescribed by the Department of Education. Blackdale Public School, being an unaided school, revises the fees in consultation with the parents and is never done in the middle of session.

Staff & Service Conditions: The teaching staff for all subjects are well qualified as per the CBSE Board. The school does not compromise as far as qualifications and training of teachers is concerned. All subjects at (+2) levels are taught by PGTs. The pupil-teachers' ratio is maintained as suggested by the Board as 1:1.5. The salary of the staff is paid through the cheques or directly into their banks' account. The teachers are normally offered service contracts, their service condition is well defined and followed. The school has contributory Provident Fund and Health Insurance ESI for its staff. Teachers attend in service (orientation) programme organised by the school itself and also in other institution.

Management: The management under any condition does not retain or keep the original documents of the teacher except the photocopies for record of personal files. A properly constituted registered society (REDS) is a non-proprietary character. The School Management Committee (SMC) looks after the activities of the school for smooth functioning of the school.

Financial Resources: The school has sufficient financial resources to meet the running expenses of the school so as to maintain it at a reasonable standard of efficiency to pay salaries to teachers and other staff, regularly to undertake renovation and development of school. The school's finances are not diverted to any individual in the Society/School Management Committee or to any other person. The savings after meeting the recurring and non-recurring expenditure are utilized for promoting the school. The accounts are audited and certified by a Certified Chartered Accountant and proper accounts' statements are maintained.
